My Belsey Family:

My Belsey connection is through my husband's Terry Family. John Terry 1822-1893 was the son of James Terry and Mary Belsey. We believe Mary to be the daughter of Isaac Belsey and Ann Kemp, not the daughter of John Belsey and Elizabeth Vanson as previously believed by other researchers. This Belsey family was situated in East Kent. Mary Belsey was christened in Chillenden Parish 24 Aug 1788. Two of her brothers, Thomas (1786) and Joseph (1791) were also christened in Chillenden. Her brothers John (1778) and William (1780) along with their eldest sister Sarah (1777) were all christened in Eastry. Eastry is where Isaac was from at the time of his marriage to Ann Kemp in 1776 in Ickham.
